The M. Monica Eggert Senior Center houses a state-of-the-art, central kitchen preparing 91,000 meals a year for distribution to Café locations and Meals on Wheels recipients throughout the 190-square-mile, 9-Town Estuary Region. Lunch is served promptly at noon at our Cafe Sites, Monday through Friday. An evening meal, often with entertainment, is held seasonally, in Old Saybrook.
EMOTS (out of the area medical transportation) provides rides to medical appointments. Vans are wheelchair accessible and two cars are available for transporting, as well. Educational and cultural trips to museums, parks, concerts, theatre and music destinations are scheduled throughout the year.
The Senior Center has meeting room space for preventative health screens and programs, and an exercise classroom for Senior Fitness, weight training, chair exercise, Tai Chi and Yoga classes, as well as, ping pong. The Senior Center, also has billiards, cards, creative writers’ class, bingo, Wii bowling, and art classes. We are always open to new opportunities for fun and friendship, and to try something new. AARP Tax Assistance and Mature Drivers Classes are held here. Notary public services are available.
